Hoopers
A wonderfully rewarding, fun, dog sport for all ages and abilities. Its fabulous for your dog's health and fitness, mentally and physically. Don't be put off by previous injuries, I currently teach several dogs that have retired from Agility but still require that mental stimulation, once vet checked.
The courses we run, cover the starting point of learning this fabulous new dog sport at foundation level. If you already have some knowledge you will be assessed and put into a suitable class. 121's are also available if required.

When Hoopers came on the horizon I was unsure about it as a dog sport. But, after researching and learning about it – wow it is so much more, I’m totally hooked. Any dog is suitable, and all handlers can do it too.

As an accredited Hoopers Instructor, I can assess you for the Foundation, Bronze and Silver awards. I currently also have the pleasure of teaching Hoopers at Crouch Valley Agility.
There are five pieces of equipment used in Hoopers.

A hoop which is passed through

A barrel which is a directional change

A non-slip tunnel which is larger and straighter than
agility tunnels -
A touch and go mat which is run over, and

A chute similar to a tunnel
On learning the foundation we teach the dog to have confidence at moving fluidly, starting to follow a simple course.

Learning to gain distance from the handler, each piece of equipment is in the dog's line and allows the dog - with the handlers instruction - to make correct correct choices.

Because of the safety aspects, Hoopers foundation training can start from 4 months. With simple understanding, commands and rewards, the dog will grow in confidence and ability.
